This can result in you wasting time thinking about other things and can cause you to guess on answers because you feel you don’t know the answers.

Here are a few skills for CNA exams tips to help you relax and pass the exam.

Always listen to the tasks that are being asked of you. You are going to be given about 5 skills to perform for the person giving and grading the exam. They are going to evaluate you and grade you on your performance.

Before you begin any task, always remember to wash your hands. Make sure you do it correctly as you are graded on this as well. Have a few paper towels available and turn the water on. Use a good amount of soap and always remember to wash your hands, under your fingernails, around your wrists and between your fingers. A great way to ensure you have washed them long enough is to sing the ABC song in your head. This should take about 30 seconds. Take the paper towels you have set out and dry off your hands and use one to turn the water off. After each patient contact skill, wash your hands again.

Another skill for Certified Nursing Assistant exams tip is to keep patient privacy in mind. Always keep the patient when covered when you are dressing or undressing them. Speak in a silent tone but loud enough for the patient to hear as well. You don’t want to startle the patient. Always knock on the door before you begin to enter. Close curtains as well in order to keep anyone from seeing them while you are caring for them.

Consider finding out the most common skills so that you can practice these ahead of time to help prepare yourself better. This can put you more at ease when you are taking your exam and can help you pass it. Some of the most common ones are transferring a patient, changing linens while the patient is in bed, grooming the patient, taking vital signs, putting a patient on a bedpan, transferring a patient who is paralyzed on one side of their body, and mouth care.
