CNA Nursing Training - What is CNA Nursing Training?

A CNA works under the nurses and under their direction. They are responsible for providing basic care to patients in clinics, hospital, homes, nursing homes and more. Some responsibilities include bathing, grooming, oral care, sterilization, and much more. You may also be required to feed patients and help them walk around.

A CNA is a critical part of the patient’s care and can assure better patient care because the nurse can focus more on their job. It can be a very challenging yet rewarding job choice for some people, but it does require a certain amount of training.

CNA nursing training classes will teach you a variety of skills, including how to determine what the patient needs, how you are supposed to interact with them, how to observe things and how to determine what their state of mind is. You will also receive a brief background on helping to diagnose and even treat some injuries or diseases. CNA nursing training classes are also going to give you a brief overview of different drug reactions and a few preventative measures in the health care industry.

Certified Nursing Assistant Training

CNA nursing training classes consist of hands-on experience and classroom training. The program can be taken at a community college or other medical facility and is about 120 hours total for the whole program. You are going to learn about different legal issues, responsibilities, patient rights, how to use medical equipment and much more. You will also need to become trained in CPR in the unfortunate case of an accident.

The cost of CNA nursing training classes can vary from about $400 to about $1,000. Some students may be approved for financial assistance, and there are even some who can get it for free. For those who are already working in a medical facility, your employer may be more than happy to train you in return for you working with their company for a certain period of time.

Once the training is completed, a certification exam is given. You must become certified in the state you will be residing in, as each state has its own guidelines. Once you have completed and passed the certification exam, you are considered ready to start work.
